TVWC IS JOINING FORCES WITH VICTORY WRESTLING CENTER

Hello all TVWC families,

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their patience. I understand everyone has been waiting for an announcement regarding our upcoming season.

After an off season full of deep contemplation, I have come to the conclusion that our best plan forward is to join forces with Victory. This has been a very hard conclusion to come to, but it is truly the best path forward for the athletes for the following reasons:

1. We are being left in the dust by our competition because we don't offer a year-round program. Our original goal was to get to that point but we don't have enough coaching help. Steve and I don't have the time to do it and we don't have anyone else. Clubs like Victory are pulling in all of the serious wrestlers in the area. Due to that, our best wrestlers have plateaued due to the lack of advanced practice partners. I feel as though I'm holding our wrestlers back from reaching their full potential because we can't offer what these other clubs can.

2. Looking forward into the future, I won't have the same ability/time to give like I have these last 2 seasons. I'm taking on more and more responsibilities in my personal working career. I also got engaged over the summer and plan to have my own children in upcoming years. I simply won't be able to put my best step forward for these athletes as my life progresses. Kyle (Victory Owner) does this for a living and has all the time and resources to give, which is what these kids deserve.

Steve and I will still be heavily involved with Victory. I have accepted a coaching role for the older age group for the upcoming season and will help with the other age groups as well. Steve will still come to practices and make his presence known. We also intend to integrate the Thompson Valley High school wrestlers into practice like we’ve always done at TVWC. Having the high schoolers as role models is extremely important to me and that is something we will keep intact in the move to Victory.

Understand this has been an incredibly difficult decision. I hate leaving behind the TVWC tradition as it has such a special place in my heart. My goal is to implement the same traditions and inspire my athletes, that hasn't changed. We will be giving some things up by going this direction but I believe it's what is best for our athletes which is the whole reason why I began coaching in the first place.

These past two seasons have been so special to me, and I will always cherish those memories. I care so much for all your kiddos and just want what is best for them all.

Much love,

Coach Jay
